New Zealand is set to host a series of international cricket matches this summer, welcoming Australia, England, South Africa, and the West Indies for a thrilling season of both men's and women's cricket. The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced the schedule, which includes a range of formats, promising fans an exciting home season. The White Ferns will also be in action, facing South Africa and Zimbabwe in a series of white-ball matches.
The summer season will commence with a three-match T20I series against Australia, starting on October 1st. Following this, England will tour New Zealand for a white-ball series, featuring three T20Is from October 18th and three ODIs from October 26th.
The West Indies will then arrive for an extensive tour, beginning with five T20Is on November 5th, followed by three ODIs starting November 16th, and culminating in three Test matches, the first of which will begin on December 6th.
Following their participation in the ODI World Cup 2025 in India and Sri Lanka, the White Ferns will play 14 white-ball games at home, beginning early next year.
Zimbabwe will tour New Zealand for the first time, playing a three-match T20I series starting on February 25th, followed by a three-match ODI series, part of the next ICC Women's Championship 2025-29, starting March 5th.
A five-match T20I series against South Africa will be played as double-headers alongside the men's matches from March 15th to 25th. The White Ferns will also play three ODIs against South Africa between March 29th and April 4th.
NZC Chief Executive Scott Weenink expressed his excitement about the diverse range of opponents for both the Black Caps and White Ferns. He highlighted the significance of hosting Zimbabwe for their first-ever series against the New Zealand women's team. Weenink also noted the opportunity for fans to watch top-tier cricket across major centers, particularly the double-headers against South Africa, offering a unique experience for fans.
Pace-bowler Kyle Jamieson described the upcoming season as a "marquee summer," emphasizing the high calibre of opposition. He acknowledged the constant challenges that the team will face and expressed his enthusiasm for playing in front of home crowds.
