British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has playfully dismissed rumors of a romantic involvement with Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, a five-time Grand Slam champion. The denial came during a pre-Wimbledon press conference where she also confirmed their participation in mixed doubles at the upcoming US Open.

Speculation arose after Raducanu was seen supporting Alcaraz during his semi-final match at the HSBC Championships at Queen's Club. This prompted a reporter to inquire about the nature of their relationship.
Raducanu responded to the dating rumors with a simple: "We're just good friends."
When the reporter attempted to conclude the questioning, Raducanu quipped, “Way to wrap up.”
The two tennis stars have been practicing together, preparing for their mixed doubles debut at the US Open.
"It was fun yesterday. We were both on court with Evian, just getting some volley practice ahead of New York. I'm really happy to be playing with him. We had a great time," Raducanu stated, highlighting the enjoyable nature of their practice sessions.
Raducanu also revealed that it was Alcaraz who initiated the partnership. "Yes, he asked me. He asked me earlier on in the year, and I was very surprised, honoured, and excited," she shared, expressing her enthusiasm for the opportunity.
Raducanu, known for her unexpected victory at the 2021 US Open, has since faced challenges in maintaining consistency on the tour.
Alcaraz, on the other hand, has continued his ascent in the tennis world following his 2022 US Open win, securing several major titles.
Following his recent victory at the HSBC Championships, Alcaraz is poised to begin his Wimbledon 2025 campaign against Fabio Fognini of Italy in the first round.
The US Open will mark the beginning of Raducanu and Alcaraz's journey as a mixed doubles team, a new chapter in their careers.
